After 20 years working both as a volunteer and an employee of Cairns Basketball, has taken a role with the Cairns Taipans NBL team as the Team Manager. Consequently, he will no longer be a full-time employee of Cairns Basketball, although he will continue to assist the Cairns Basketball where he can.
Mike has been a tireless worker for the association throughout his 20-year involvement and has been instrumental in the association’s growth and facilities development. He has been a prolific grant writer and has a great deal of success in securing grants for many and varied projects. He has seen the highs and lows of Cairns Basketball and remained enthusiastic and committed throughout his tenure.
As a result of his commitment and enthusiasm for Cairns Basketball, the Cairns Basketball voted unanimously to bestow a Life Membership on Mike. This was presented to him by the President of Cairns Basketball, Mark Beecroft, and Hon Curtis Pitt and the end of year, NBL1 North function, on Sunday 7 August 20e are sure that you join us in wishing Mike all the best in his now role.
