Cairns Basketball is proud to announce a new and exciting opportunity for Year 11 and 12 students in 2023, a partnership between the Cairns Basketball and TAFE Queensland; the Cairns Basketball TAFE at School Program.
Participating student athletes will undertake a Certificate II in Sport Coaching with a focus on Basketball. Completing this program will give you 4 points towards obtaining your QCE and is open to students from schools across the region.
The practical focused program allows you to study while developing your basketball skills, tactical awareness, strength and conditioning, wellness and job readiness while providing an insight into the life of an aspiring basketball player or coach.
We will also build your understanding on high performance topics such as nutrition, recovery, sports science and psychology and also engage with guest speakers.
This will be a full day session run every Thursday over 4 terms in 2023 at Cairns Basketball and TAFE Queensland.
There is a $100 resource fee* for the 12-month program which includes your training kit.
