2015/16 Representative Season Wrap

 In Representatives

The 2015/16 Representative season was full of improvements, highlights and success for our representative teams and players. None of this would have been achieved if it wasn’t for the efforts of all coaches, managers, officials and parents. A consistent approach and having everyone on the same page has helped us reach new heights and set the benchmark across the state.

Below is a basic overview of the 2015/16 representative season, we will be back bigger and better next season!

QNJBC Success

7 out of 8 boy’s teams claimed division crowns, while the girl’s teams placed highly and showed massive signs of improvement across the 3 tournaments.

State Championship Success

7 out of 8 division 1 sides finished in the Top 6. This was highlighted by a GOLD medal for the U16 Marlins, SILVER medal for the U14 Marlins and a BRONZE medal for the U18 Dolphins.

Vince Hickey Trophy

Cairns Basketball was awarded the 2016 Vince Hickey Trophy which goes to the overall champion association based on State Championship results. This is the first time Cairns have ever won the award, which dates back to 1990.
